District Early Intervention Center aims at screening early detection and early intervention so as to minimize disabilities among growing children.
The broad goals and services for DEIC includes:
 Screening of children from birth – 18 years for 4D’s-diseases, deficiency, disability and developmental delay
Early identification of selected health conditions
Holistic assessment, investigation, diagnosis
Referral to higher centres
Psycho- social intervention- like psychological counselling with therapy, special education
Intervention like physiotherapy, dental management, ophthalmic management, audiological management and speech therapy
